The Cordish Companies Stadium Casino, LLC has announced their plans for creating a satellite casino in the Hempfield Township of Pennsylvania. The company met with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board this week, providing insight on what their proposed Category 4 mini-casino will be offering. The venue will be located in the Westmoreland Mall, a facility located off Route 30, a short distance from the city of Pittsburgh.
Public Input Hearing:
During the presentation, representatives of Cordish provided the first look of what the new casino would have to offer. The venue will be located in an area with 100,000 square feet of space, formerly home to a Bon-Ton department store. The space will include the satellite casino gaming options, dining and entertainment.
As much as $150 million will be invested to provide a one-of-a-kind experience, featuring as many as 750 slots and electronic table games along with 30 live table games. Restaurants and live entertainment will be added, to ensure customers have a wide variety of options within the new facility.

Impact on the Community:
The project has estimated that as much as $200 million will be generated annually from the new venue. As many as 960 construction jobs will be created, both direct and indirect, as well as 500 jobs that will provide permanent employment for locals of the area.
The project will also focus on offering opportunities for construction and operations vendor companies for locals as well as women-owned, minority-owned and veteran-owned businesses. The plans must now be reviewed by the board and approved before a construction timeline can be created.
